NSPE Senior Manager of Government Relations Sarah Ogden participated in the Department of Commerce's National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship teleconference. The council advises Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on policy relating to building small businesses and helps keep the department engaged in a regular dialogue with the entrepreneurship and small business communities. Eight of the 26 council members have engineering backgrounds. The council discussed funding opportunities available through channels such as the i6 Challenge, challenge.gov, the Small Business Innovation Research program, and the Small Business Technology Transfer program.
