The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology released its K–12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education study," Prepare and Inspire: K–12 Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) for America's Future." The study makes specific recommendations to the federal government on how to better prepare America's K–12 students in STEM subjects and how to inspire students to challenge themselves with STEM classes, engage in STEM activities outside the school classroom, and consider pursuing careers in STEM fields. NSPE Senior Manager of Government Relations Sarah Ogden attended the September 2 PCAST meeting where the study was reviewed.
