The House approved the Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2012, Part II (H.R. 4348) with bipartisan support. The bill would extend transportation funding through September 30, 2012. Critically, the legislation's passage enables the House and Senate to begin negotiations that could lead to agreement on a multiyear transportation bill.
